This position partners with academic and administrative units to provide strategic HR guidance, support workforce planning, and ensure compliance with university policies and state and federal regulations. The Advisor contributes to a positive and inclusive campus environment by supporting employee engagement, organizational effectiveness, and operational excellence. The Advisor mentors law school staff.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to mentor and lead others to ensure effective operations at the law school. - Ability to handle data with confidentiality. - Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously. - Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations related to human resources. - Ability to analyze requests to determine compliance with policies, procedures and regulations.- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external customers. - Must possess the ability to write clearly, accurately, and effectively. - Demonstrated ability to effectively evaluate and prioritize work assignments to meet timeliness and quality expectations. - Ability to learn, adapt to and operate efficiently in multiple systems utilized concurrently, including human capital management system, talent management and other relevant integrations, and Microsoft Office.- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel.- Must possess excellent judgement, high expectations for quality, excellent customer service etiquette, and a strong work ethic. - Must be a self-starter and possess the ability to solve problems independently. - Must have the ability to handle the stress and pressure of working in the Dean's suite, where work must be performed with quick turn-around times and precision.
Additional Comments
Preferred Qualifications- Knowledge and understanding of USC HR policies, State of SC HR Regulations and applicable federal HR laws/regulations specific to higher education. - Prior experience in cross-functional HR program management.
