Job DutiesProvides safe clean environment – The Aide I:Utilizes equipment, supplies and warning signs to ensure clean, safe environmentResponds appropriately in emergency codes and situationsResponds appropriately to hazardous material spillsOperates laundry equipment following set guidelines to ensure clean safe environmentRoutine procedures – The Aide I:Completes routine cleaning assignments thoroughly and within deadlinesCompletes discharges using time management skillsMaintains infection control and safe work habitsPerforms wet/dry mop procedures correctlyCleans patient rooms, toilets, ancillary areas, support areas, offices, windows, doors, blinds, and maintains the laundry cleanliness as scheduledPerforms terminal cleaning as assignedWashes linen, maintains wash room areas, provides a clean and productive flow of linen to finishing departmentsWeighs and sorts soiled linen for proper wash loadProperly maintain chemicals supply to washers and reports problems as they occurAccountability – The Aide I:Works independently, with evidence of time managementKeeps supervisor informedRemains accessible at all times and notifies supervisor when leaving assigned areaReads memorandums and initials as posted on departmental bulletin boardsUtilizes cost containment practicesPerforms other duties as assignedPolicy and procedure – The Aide I:Follows hospital and department policyMeets WRMC's attendance expectations as defined in the Human Resources Policy/Procedure ManualAdheres to WRMC's Dress Code PolicyInterpersonal relations – The Aide I:Communicates effectively at all levelsUse AIDET in approaching all customersMaintains positive public imageMaintains patient confidentiality at all timesGeneral education – The Aide I:Attends all required educationAttends 75% of departmental meetingsEducation:Must be able to read, write, and perform simple math.
