Our Assistant Housekeeping Manager is a very hands-on position, leading daily room inspections and supporting staff as needed each day in both the housekeeping and laundry areas.

The Assistant Housekeeping Manager reports directly to our Housekeeping Director and works closely with our front desk, General Manager, Assistant General Manager and other managers to ensure guests have a great experience with us.The right candidate has experience following standardized methods and processes that allow our housekeepers to efficiently clean rooms and provide guests with an excellent housekeeping experience. The right candidate is also interested in supporting a positive staff environment and fostering a staff that is warm, personable and extremely helpful to our guests.The Assistant Housekeeping Manager coordinates staff work-plans, priorities, and works hands-on each day to prepare rooms and laundry for guests. They also maintain standards and maintain quality control for the Housekeeping Department and help develop daily and periodic cleaning schedules and priorities.

This person also maintains and orders departmental supplies and inventories.The Assistant Housekeeping Manager is a key part of the team and consistently interacts with and assists Lodge guests. The widespread nature of our property presents the Assistant Housekeeping Manager with challenging logistics but also presents a great opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and our beautiful setting.QualificationsYou'll thrive in this role if you:Enjoy helping guests and creating a welcoming environmentAre reliable, detail-oriented and organizedCan balance multiple tasks while maintaining cleanliness and safety standardsWork well independently and as part of a supportive teamKey ResponsibilitiesTrain staff in cleaning procedures, timeliness, and chemical usageAssist with managing schedules, time off requests, attendance of all housekeeping staffAssist with supply ordering as neededEnsure rooms and public areas are cleaned and ready for all functions and time deadlinesAssist with cleaning guest rooms, public lobbies, restrooms, and other guest areas as assignedMaintain cleanliness of housekeeping vacuums, closets, storage areas, and other equipmentHandle guest complaints concerning housekeeping service or refers problem to managersInspect all rooms after they have been cleaned to ensure that all lodge policies and standards have met and a room is guest readyAssists housekeepers with daily housekeeping as needed to meet the 4pm check-in deadline including stripping rooms, making beds, porting for the housekeepers, etc.Stay on top of trash and dirty linen and get it to the appropriate placeComply with housekeeping policies and proceduresAssist with other lodge needs as the need arises from time to timeCommunicate professionally at all times with all staff and managementSupport team members and interns while fostering a positive work environmentWork safely, address/report safety issues, and use proper personal protective equipmentComply with work shift schedules and break requirementsPerform other duties as assigned, including additional lodge support as neededEducation & ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GED; college degree a plusMinimum one-year prior work experience in Housekeeping leadership; hotel/hospitality preferredExperience successfully living/working in rural/remote environment preferredCompetencies/Required Skills and AbilitiesStrong guest service and hospitality focusAble to train, re-train, and motivate housekeeping daily staffReliable, dependable and punctualExceptionally high attention to detailCapable of self-supervisionAble to follow written and verbal instructions in a timely, concise mannerWorks well as part of a team and supports othersDetail-oriented with good organizational skillsFollows company policies, procedures and safety standardsAdheres to food handling and sanitation requirementsCommunicates appropriately, supportively and professionallyAdaptable, takes initiative, and able to multitask and troubleshoot in a fast-paced settingDemonstrates good judgment, integrity, honesty and professionalismPositive attitude and willingness to learn and growLeading a healthy, balanced, drug-free lifestyleWork Environment and Physical DemandsThe physical environment requires employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions, and to adhere to departmental uniform standardsFrequent walking, twisting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, sitting, climbing stairsAbility to stand and move continuouslyLifting up to 50 pounds and moving carts weighing 300 poundsWorking with required chemicals and PPEShifts of up to 8 hours per day, plus periodic additional overtime hours and help covering additional shifts when neededNOTEWe are an equal opportunity employer and extremely proud of our highly diverse team and embrace diversity at all levels of the organization.
