Housekeeper
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the gaming floor, public spaces, and employee areas. This role involves ensuring that all areas are neat, safe, and sanitary for both guests and staff. The Housekeeper must adhere to high standards of cleanliness and safety while delivering excellent customer service. Additionally, the Housekeeper contributes to the facility's commitment to creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for all guests.
The essential duties and responsibilities include performing cleaning duties in bathrooms and public areas, ensuring all amenities are replenished, cleaning and sanitizing public areas, responding to guest requests, ensuring the proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment, reporting maintenance issues, inspecting areas to ensure cleanliness and safety standards, following facility policies and procedures, assisting in the stocking and inventory management of cleaning supplies, following safety protocols, maintaining a clean and organized work area, adhering to uniform and grooming standards, and other duties as assigned.
The standards of performance include consistently meeting or exceeding cleanliness and guest service expectations, following safety protocols and procedures, maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor, demonstrating reliability in attendance and punctuality, working efficiently and effectively with minimal supervision, and being available to work when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
Required skills and abilities include strong attention to detail, ability to follow instructions, effective time management and organizational skills, ability to work independently or as part of a team, strong interpersonal skills, ability to stay calm and courteous under pressure, basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and safety data sheets, dependability, and flexibility to adapt to changing schedules or tasks.
Education and experience include a high school diploma or equivalent preferred, prior experience in housekeeping or custodial services, particularly in a hospitality or gaming environment, knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and materials, ability to work efficiently and effectively with minimal supervision, strong communication skills, and ability to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license.
Physical requirements and working conditions include standing, speaking, hearing, using hands, and reaching with hands and arms, occasionally sitting, specific vision abilities, occasionally lifting and/or moving up to ten (10) pounds, working in moderately quiet and loud noise levels, and possibly being exposed to cigarette smoke on the gaming floor.
