- Performs cleaning and janitorial duties such as: vacuuming, dusting, mopping, cleaning windows, disinfecting - deep and light cleaning
- Maintain resident rights, dignity, and privacy at all times; residents' personal items may be cleaned, straightened, or adjusted as necessary but must not be removed from resident rooms without authorization
- Cleans dining rooms and food service areas after meals in accordance with infection control and sanitation standards
- Assists in identifying and reporting safety hazards and environmental risks - reports needs for major and minor repairs to Housekeeping Supervisor/Lead
- Understands and clearly communicates with residents, families, & co-workers in an effective manner
- Ensures the safe handling, storage, and supervision of chemicals and hazardous materials, maintaining secure housekeeping carts when not under direct supervision
- Ensures all cleaning chemicals are properly labeled and stored in accordance with safety guidelines
- Follows infection prevention and control practices, including proper cleaning, disinfecting, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Maintain a neat and clean appearance; closed-toe shoes are required
- Must be able to perform duties in accordance with the guidelines mandated by Social Services as the licensing agent of this facility
- Be of acceptable physical and mental health to carry out assigned duties
- Employee must possess mature judgment skills and be able to respond to emergency situations
- Laundry/Linens (wash, dry, hang & put away in proper places)
- Keeps housekeeping closet(s) neat and orderly
- Assist in control of sanitation
- Able to work under time constraints while maintaining attention to safety and quality
- Performs daily tasks as set forth by the Housekeeping Supervisor/Lead, Administrator and/or Designee
- Works collaboratively with all staff to support resident care and facility operations
- Attendance is required during inclement weather
- Follows infection control policies & procedures
- Follows all policies & procedures of Runk and Pratt
- Maintains appropriate & respectful conduct within the workplace
- Provides support in any area that may arise that is above and beyond the normal expectations for this position
- Graduation from high school or GED
- Complete annual in-service training as required
- State Police background check that is free from barrier offenses
- A current Tuberculosis screening on or within 7 days prior to the first day of employment and free from Tuberculosis
- At least every other weekend & holiday hours required
- The ability to meet physical requirements for position
- The ability to pass a drug test
