AM Shift: 6:30 am to 2:30 pm.The housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, safe and comfortable environment for residents, staff and visitors. This position ensures that residents rooms, common areas and assigned workspaces meet established cleanliness and infection control standards while demonstrating respect and compassion towards seniors.Responsibilities:Clean and sanitize residents' rooms, including bathrooms, kitchenettes, break rooms, dining room and living areasClean common areas such as hallways, lounges, dining rooms, offices and restroomsSweep, mop, vacuum, dust and polish surfacesRemove trash and recycling from resident rooms and common areasReplenish supplies (toilet paper, paper towels, soap, etc.)Follow infection control and safety proceduresHandle cleaning chemicals safely according to manufacturer guidelinesReport maintenance or safety concerns promptlyRespond to resident requests in a courteous and timely mannerMaintain confidentiality and respect of residents' privacyUse safet-team protocols and other "best safe practices" when filling or using cleaners, detergents and other chemicals to include use of goggles and glovesCompletes room "changeovers" before and after resident movesPerform other duties assignedAdditional responsibilities:Assist with laundry services as neededSupport special cleaning projectsQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent preferredPrevious housekeeping experience preferred (healthcare or senior living experience, a plus)Ability to follow written and verbal instructionsStrong attention to detailAbility to work independently and part as a teamCompassionate and respectful attitude towards seniorsPhysical requirements:Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours per shiftFrequent bending, kneeling, stooping and reachingAbility to lift and carry up to 40 pounds regularlyAbility to push/pull carts weighing up to 50 poundsManual dexterity to operate cleaning tools and equipmentAbility to tolerate exposure to cleaning chemicals and odorsWork environment:Senior living community settingExposure to cleaning chemicals and bodily fluidsMay require weekend and holiday shifts
