Housekeeper/Cleaning Specialist (Second Shift)A full time position responsible for the cleaning and sanitizing of offices, patient rooms, clinical areas and common spaces in all three of our Watauga County Sites, (two medical and one dental). Use supplies to clean, disinfect and sterilize frequently touched surfaces. Remove trash and dispose of medical waste properly.
Some cleaning can be done within office hours, other cleaning (mopping, vacuuming, etc., to be done after working hours. Some weekends may be required).Essential Functions:Clean the interior of buildings including floors, carpet, rugs, windows and wallsDisinfect commonly used items like desks, door handles, office tools and phonesMaintain cleaning inventory, placing orders for new products when neededClean outdoor windows, pick up trash around entrances and sweep doorways.Remove debris sidewalksEmpty trashStock and maintain cleaning suppliesVacuum, sweep and mop floorsClean and maintain restrooms (to include supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels and soap).Wash and clean windows and mirrorsNotify supervisors of unsafe conditionsDust furniture and fixturesReports to: Chief Operations OfficerRequirements:Education and Training: A basic knowledge of cleaning procedures and supplies.Skills and Abilities:Good communication skills.Knowledge of various cleaning products and when to use themAbility to clean and disinfect various surfacesAbility to lift and move at least 50 poundsGood organizational skillsAbility to follow directionsKnowledge of safety guidelines when working with chemical cleaners.Typical Physical Demands: The job duties require an employee to bend, reach, stoop, stand and/or walk for extended periods. The job also requires comfortability using a ladder.
Must be able to lift and move at least 50 pounds.Travel Requirements: Must be able to use your own vehicle and travel between Boone sites.
