We both work full-time and spend most weekdays in the office, with occasional travel for conferences and client visits.

When we do work from home, we have a dedicated home office space that is important to our daily workflow and focus. Our home is full of energy, constant movement, and lots of love, but like many working parents, we often feel like we're constantly chasing the clutter and trying to stay one step ahead of the day-to-day logistics of family life. We live by our calendar, and while we've tried to create systems, many of them no longer function in a way that truly supports how we live right now. Things like laundry can easily take over an entire Sunday, and the constant mental load of meal planning and figuring out "what's for dinner" can feel overwhelming in an already full week. We're looking for someone who can step into the natural rhythm of our household, help things run smoothly, and bring thoughtful, proactive support without overcomplicating what already works. We deeply value communication, coordination, reliability, and small thoughtful touches that make everyday life feel lighter and more manageable.

We hope to find someone who can integrate seamlessly into our household and become a trusted presence in our daily routine.Who You Are / What We're Looking ForYou are observant, proactive, and comfortable working independently without needing constant direction. You notice the small things before they become bigger issues, whether that's recognizing when the litter box needs attention or replacing batteries before they run out. You take initiative naturally, while also respecting household preferences and the specific ways things are done. You are warm, thoughtful, and communicative without needing to fill every quiet moment. You understand that our home office is an important workspace and are mindful of boundaries and focus time during the workday.

You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and genuinely enjoy creating a sense of order, calm, and ease within a busy household. You are adaptable and comfortable with the natural ebb and flow that comes with a home full of young children. You understand that flexibility is essential and are able to shift priorities as needed. Most importantly, you value open communication, welcome feedback, and are interested in building a long-term relationship with a family rather than simply completing tasks day to day.Key ResponsibilitiesHousehold Management and OrganizationPerform daily resets and light tidying throughout the home: dishes, surfaces, mudroom/entryway, vacuum high-traffic areas and rugs, and taking out the trashReset kitchen as needed throughout the dayPrepare home before weekly house cleaners arriveOrganize toys and living spacesAssist with seasonal clothing swaps for childrenCare for indoor plantsProactively change batteries, light bulbs, and smoke detectorsAssist with hosting preparation: pull tables from basement, wipe down surfaces, stock suppliesUnpack travel items and process laundry upon family's returnMaintain and suggest improvements to existing household organizational systemsInventory & ErrandsRestock pantry, fridge, and household suppliesMaintain stock of essentials like toilet paper and paper towels and monitor household supplies across three floorsAdd items to shared inventory list systemOrder supplies as needed (with final purchase approval from family)Process returns and manage donation drop-offsAssist with putting away dry cleaningPerform gift shopping errands based on family specificationsHandle packages and assist in creating a system for family review before putting items awayBreak down and dispose of boxesMeal Planning and PreparationPrep ingredients (wash berries, chop vegetables, etc.) for family-chosen recipes on busy weeknightsAssist with simple tasks: turn on oven, pop in precooked foodMonitor fridge contents and flag items going bad before restockingAssist with preparing and packing lunches for parents on office workdaysConduct grocery shopping with family-maintained list or receive/put away grocery deliveriesMidweek grocery restock to supplement weekend shoppingLaundry & LinensProcess laundry throughout the week to prevent pile-upFold and put away laundry according to family preferencesIron specific items as neededComplete sheet changes and bed-making as neededHandle pool towel loads during pool seasonDeep Cleaning & Special ProjectsDeep clean fridge and ovenEmpty dishwasher trapWipe down cabinetryAddress baseboards and cobweb removalWash comforters and rugs on regular rotationMaintain cleaning schedule for deep tasks throughout the houseMaintain main floor bathroom and kitchen dailyVehicle UpkeepCoordinate with mobile detailer for vehicle cleaningWeekly car vacuum to address snack debris (as schedule permits)Family Support (& Child Assistance)Occasional pickups and drop-offs when primary childcare is unavailableLight supervision and back-up childcare, particularly evenings1-2 hours of coverage for after-work events when neededOnce baby arrives, ensure baby bottles and pump parts are washed and readyPet CareMaintain cat litter boxMonitor and refill food and water as neededCoordinate cat boarding drop-off and pickup when family travelsVendor & Property OversightBe available for contractor and vendor accessFollow-up on quotes and coordinate schedulingPool area maintenance: towel loads, stock pool bath, load drinks in fridgeMaintain pool house and outdoor space readinessAdministrative & Personal Assistant SupportPotential to help with travel suggestions (including flight times, etc.)Oversight into weekly family calendarHow to ApplyPlease submit:A short introduction letterYour updated resumeThree professional references with contact informationNote: This role requires a background check. When you apply with Sage Haus, you'll also be added to our candidate community email list so we can share hiring updates, resources, and opportunities.
