Our family thrives when our home is in order, and having top-notch organization helps keep everyone regulated and stress free. Both parents work from home and we have energetic 3.5-year-old twins. We have a very active household, with both parents managing long days and demanding careers, making it difficult to keep up with daily tasks. We need someone who can help us get caught up initially and then maintain a sustainable rhythm going forward so we can actually enjoy our downtime and spend quality time together as a family.
We're creating a comprehensive household manual so the right person can step in and take ownership of the day-to-day — meal prep, laundry, organizing — without needing constant direction. We are hoping to build a long-term partnership with someone who feels comfortable in our space and can develop a warm, professional relationship with our family over time.Who You Are / What We're Looking For:You're proactive and anticipatory, able to learn our family's rhythms and foresee what's coming next without being asked. You're organized, tech-savvy, and comfortable using tools like Notion to follow household systems. You bring a strong work ethic, reliability, and take genuine satisfaction in helping a busy household feel organized, supported, and at ease. You're a team player who communicates openly and directly, and you're willing to do things the way we prefer them done, respecting our established systems around cleaning products, laundry care, and household organization.
You are someone who will respect and follow our family's detailed systems rather than substituting your own methods. While our childcare needs are covered, you are someone who is comfortable around young children and a variety of animals (we have a puppy, two cats, birds, a fish and frog). While we don't need our House Manager to help out with our pets currently, you may need to help with the dog in the future once his puppy training is completed. You are someone who will bring a professional but warm presence to our home. You're looking for a long-term position where you can grow with a family over the years, and grow your responsibilities over time.
Above all, you're someone who can help restore a sense of calm and order to our household so we can focus on being present with our kids and help us find more balance as a family.Key ResponsibilitiesHousehold Management & OrganizationPerform daily resets including dishes, clearing surfaces, vacuuming high-traffic areas, and trash removalKitchen appliance care and cleaning, including refilling espresso machineMaintaining household organization systemsPrep spaces before our weekly cleaners arrivePrepare the home for guest visitsProvide packing and unpacking support when we travelCare for indoor plants during busy periodsUtilize household management technology and calendar systems (e.g., Skylight)Seasonal holiday decor rotation, including storage unit pick-ups/drop-offsLaundry & Linen CareWash, fold, and organize laundry following detailed care instructionsHandle delicate items with specific washing preferencesRotate and refresh linens throughout the homeInitially catch up on backed-up laundry, then maintain ongoing rhythmMeal Planning & PrepPlan and prepare ingredients for approximately four family dinners per week.Complete advance meal preparation such as chopping vegetables, marinating proteins, assembling meal components, or preparing fully cooked meals that can be easily reheated and served at dinnertime.Utilize the family's Paprika app, favorite recipes, and extensive cookbook collection to support meal planning and preparation.Accommodate a variety of dietary preferences and needs within the household when planning and preparing meals.Batch prep and cook items for the children's school lunches for the week.Inventory & ErrandsRestock pantry, fridge, household supplies, and pet suppliesManage and organize household subscription services from Amazon, Target, Chewy, Grove, HealthyBaby, and ShiptPut away grocery and supply deliveries throughout the weekHousehold recycling management, including package breakdowns and glass recycling drop-offs once a monthHandle occasional in-person errands in walkable neighborhood (dry cleaning twice monthly, pharmacy, post office, UPS)Manage returns, gift shopping, mail, and package handlingRefueling the family car and tidying of vehicle, as neededDeep Cleaning & Special ProjectsOrganize refrigerator and remove expired food as part of meal prep and pantry managementSupport toy rotation projectsAssist with major organization projects during and after home renovationMaintain outdoor spaces including patio furnitureHow to ApplyPlease submit the following:A brief cover letter explaining why you'd be a good fit for this roleYour updated resumeAt least 3 professional references with their contact informationPlease Note: This role requires a background check.Disclaimer:When you apply with Sage Haus, you'll also be added to our candidate community email list so we can share hiring updates, resources, and opportunities.
