House Manager - Student SpecialistThe Department of Theatre is seeking a student who is self-motivated, dependable, and familiar with the department's production season to serve as House Manager.Essential Duties:Some independent judgment or initiative.May involve supervisory responsibilities for an activity of limited scope.May require a significant amount of physical exertion, adverse hour, or working conditions.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:A considerable knowledge of the work process as obtained through on-the-job training.Essential Duties:Coordinate and train ushers; manage front of house areas; enforce House rules; liaise with the box office staff; other related duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:Appropriate verbal and written communication skills.Ability and willingness to work effectively independently within a team environment.Reliability and a friendly demeanor with good attendance habits.Must be appropriately dressed to represent a professional work environment.Familiarity with the Department of Theatre and its production season.Preferred Qualifications:Patron services/customer service experience.Experience coordinating volunteers.Required Application Documents:Resume, Cover LetterMiami University Values Statement:Miami University is a scholarly community whose members believe that a liberal education is grounded in qualities of character as well as of intellect.
