We love to host and tend to go all in, from Halloween and New Year's celebrations to playoff watch parties. Our home has a lot of dynamics and personality, and we're looking for someone who enjoys being part of it all. With two demanding work schedules, two active kids (7 and 12) with busy after-school and competitive sports schedules, and a high-energy Australian Shepherd who needs daily walks, attention, and care, there are a lot of moving parts to coordinate. We need a grounding, steady presence and a trusted pillar within our home. Someone who takes ownership, brings calm and positive energy, and feels like an extra partner in helping our family stay organized and supported.
We want someone we can trust to see the bigger picture while also handling the everyday details that keep our household moving forward. At the heart of it all are relationships — our people matter deeply to us, and many of those who have worked with our family have remained in our lives long after their roles ended. That's the kind of relationship we hope to build here. While this position includes household management, family support, errands, pet care, and plenty of logistics, we're ultimately looking for someone who wants to grow with us and genuinely enjoy becoming part of our everyday life.Who You Are / What We're Looking ForYou are someone who walks into a busy household and instinctively sees what needs to happen — and then takes care of it without needing to be asked twice. You naturally think four steps ahead, maintain a bird's-eye view of the home, and notice the details others might miss — yes, even whose clothes are whose. You take genuine pride in creating order and making a busy household feel lighter, calmer, and more manageable. You are proactive, self-managed, flexible, and adaptable.
Plans will change, schedules will shift, and unexpected things will come up, and you're someone who can roll with the punches without losing your footing. You're comfortable jumping in wherever you're needed, solving problems as they arise, and figuring out the next step rather than waiting for direction. You're thoughtful about the way you work and naturally look for efficiencies that will make our existing systems better. You don't feel the need to reinvent the wheel — but if you see a smarter way to do something, you're confident enough to speak up.Just as important, you're relationship-oriented, warm, and genuinely enjoy being part of a family's life. You bring positive, upbeat energy and a sense of humor to the household.
You love animals and are comfortable being actively involved in their care. You connect naturally with children of different ages and understand that being supportive sometimes means being nurturing and sometimes means being respectfully firm.If you're the kind of person who can walk into a full, active household, take a deep breath, figure out what needs to happen, jump in with a smile, and make everyone feel like they have a little more room to breathe — you're exactly who we're looking for.Key ResponsibilitiesHousehold Organization & MaintenanceExecute, maintain, and improve existing household organization systemsPerform daily resets and light tidying including dishes, surfaces, and vacuuming high-traffic areasManage seasonal swaps for clothing, décor, bedding, and gear including coordination with off-site storagePrep the home for weekly house cleanersSupport event, holiday, and guest prepManage packing and unpacking for travelHandle routine home maintenance tasks including changing batteries, light bulbs, and smoke detector checksFamily SupportProvide backup pick-up and drop-off coverage as neededOffer light supervision and backup childcare support as neededPrep backpacks, clothing, and snacks; support the older child with reminders and the younger child with organizationHandle kid-related errands as neededProvide occasional overnight support when both parents have overlapping work travel (approximately twice per year)Inventory & ErrandsProactively monitor and restock pantry, fridge, and household suppliesMaintain running supply lists and manage household subscriptions (Amazon, Chewy, Grove)Handle returns, dry cleaning, gift shopping, mail, and package managementBreak down and clear boxes regularlyMeal SupportMeal prep: wash, chop, and prep ingredientsPrepare healthy meals and snacks as needed, particularly when a parent is travelingConduct a Friday fridge clean-out and weekend refresh to ensure the family has what they need going into the weekendMaintain a clean, organized kitchenLaundry & LinensWash, fold, and organize laundry for the whole familyHandle ironing, steaming, and any special garment careManage towel and linen rotationMaintain an organized and well-stocked laundry areaPet CareFeed and walk the dog daily (2-3 mile walk preferred); coordinate dog park visits and daycare as neededAdminister flea medication and other medications to all animals as directedBathing for the dog once a monthSchedule and coordinate grooming and vet appointments for all animalsMaintain pet supplies and track needs proactivelyVendor & Property OversightOversee and act as the main point of contract for cleaners/contractors/landscapersResearch and coordinate vendor quotes, repairs, and contractor visits as neededManage outdoor spaces including regular resets, backyard cleanup, and seasonal property maintenanceAdministrative & Personal Assistant SupportManage household calendar using Skylight and an AI family assistant toolHandle occasional bookkeeping and receipt trackingSupport with event / appointment coordination as well as travel logistics as neededHow to ApplyPlease send a short intro letter, an updated resume, and 3 professional references with contact information to Sage Haus.
