House Manager & Family AssistantWe are a professional family of four in San Jose seeking a highly organized and proactive House Manager & Family Assistant to help keep our home running smoothly and provide flexible family support. With two working parents — one in medicine and one in tech with frequent travel — we're looking for someone who thrives in a dynamic household and takes initiative with calm confidence, maturity, and care. This is a long-term role for someone who is reliable, thoughtful and enjoys spending time with kids.
In addition to day to day tasks, there is opportunity to take ownership for larger organizational projects in the home.Key ResponsibilitiesHousehold Management & OrganizationDaily home reset and light housekeeping (tidying, kitchen reset)Proactive organization of pantry, closets, kids' clothing rotation, toy systemsManage family laundry (wash/dry/fold) — including bedding/towelsTrack & restock essentials (toiletries, groceries, kids' supplies)Meal Preparation & ErrandsPrep 2–3 simple, healthy family dinners weekly (plant-forward, flexible with proteins)Light lunch prep support (cut fruit, stock lunch items for next day)Grocery shopping and pantry/fridge managementErrands: occasional household pickupsFamily & Child SupportTransport children to after-school activities (Mondays & Wednesdays. Family car available to drive)Occasional school pickups or backup coverage when dad travelsEngaging playtime with kids — especially arts/crafts, outdoor activities, garden funEvening babysitting 1–2x/monthOccasional overnight support when mom is on call (approx. 1x/month) or when parents travelSeasonal / Special ProjectsGarage organization, quarterly household maintenance coordination (e.g.
