House Manager & Family AssistantLocation: Cary, NC 27519Employment Type: Part-time (20-25 hours/week, with 20 hours guaranteed)Schedule: Monday-Friday, 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM, with occasional weekly date night coverageCompensation: $25-30/hour, based on experience. You enjoy stepping in, getting things done, and making a meaningful difference in a busy family's day-to-day life.Key Responsibilities:Household Management & Organization:Create or maintain household organization systems (e.g., playroom)Assist with daily resets and preparation for cleaners (every other week)Light tidying (dishes, surfaces, vacuum high-traffic areas)Seasonal swaps (clothing, décor, bedding)Prepare and coordinate donation drop-offsPrepare for events, holiday, and guest staysGeneral home maintenance (e.g., batteries, light bulbs)Deep Cleaning & Special Projects:Occasional deep cleaning (e.g., fridge, oven, baseboards)Refresh garage, mudroom, and entry areasClean humidifiers/air purifiersOrganize special projects (toys, gear, seasonal decorations)Inventory & Errands:Track and restock pantry, fridge, toiletries, household suppliesManage household supply lists and create orders (e.g., Amazon, Costco, Target)Run errands: grocery shopping, returns, dry cleaning, gift shoppingHandle returns, gift shopping, and package/mail managementMeal Planning & Prep:Plan and prepare 2-3 meals per week for the whole family, focusing on healthy whole foodsAssist with chopping and general prepPrep school lunchesShop for groceries and meal-related itemsFollow dietary preferences (healthy, low sugar, wild-caught)Kitchen cleanup and maintenanceLaundry & Linen Care:Wash, dry, fold, and organize family laundry (e.g., clothing, bedding, towels)Iron, steam, and prepare outfits or dry cleaning as neededManage linens: rotate bedding, refresh towels, restock essentialsKeep laundry areas tidy and well-stocked with suppliesVehicle Management:Manage family vehicles (cleaning, fueling, maintenance scheduling)Track registration, insurance, and service schedulesFamily Support & Child Assistance:Assist with pick-ups and drop-offsLight supervision or backup childcareSupervision for occasional date nightsPrep backpacks, clothing, and snacks for schoolHelp with child-related laundry or errandsVendor & Property Oversight:Schedule and supervise service providers, ensuring delivery of projects on time and on budgetResearch, coordinate, and obtain quotes for repairs and maintenance, ensuring best valueMaintain an annual checklist of contractors and services to manage at specific times of year (e.g., winterizing and restarting the sprinkler system, annual pollen cleaning in the spring, holiday light installation, HVAC maintenance)Support vendor sourcing, planning, and oversight of occasional larger one-off projects in the home (e.g., a room or garage renovation, installation of a new landscape feature, etc.Manage outdoor spaces (patio cleaning, seasonal prep)Administrative & Personal Assistant Support:Help with travel planning, scheduling, and logisticsManage family calendars and remindersTrack receipts and manage them in accordance with the family's budgetAssist with coordination of events, appointments, and guest prepHow to Apply:Please include a cover letter explaining why you're a great fit for this role, an updated resume, and three professional references with contact information.This role requires a background check.
