Roka Akor Chicago is seeking warm, polished, and hospitality-driven individuals to join our front-of-house team as a Host.

Roka Akor is an award-winning Japanese steakhouse and robata concept known for exceptional cuisine, premium steaks, world-class seafood, handcrafted cocktails, extensive sake offerings, and an elevated guest experience.

We are looking for team members who take pride in making guests feel welcome, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and understand the importance of a memorable first and last impression.

As a Host, you will help guide the guest experience from the initial reservation through the final farewell. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop fine dining hospitality skills while learning restaurant operations.

• Greet every guest warmly and professionally upon arrival and thank them when they depart.

• Manage reservations, walk-ins, seating arrangements, and waitlists through OpenTable.

• Escort guests to their tables at a comfortable pace and present menus.

• Coordinate seating with managers and service staff to maintain a smooth flow of service.

• Review reservation notes, special occasions, seating preferences, and VIP information before each shift.

• Communicate guest requests, allergies, celebrations, and other important details to the appropriate team members.

• Answer phone calls professionally and assist with reservations, restaurant information, and general inquiries.

• Confirm upcoming reservations and communicate changes or special requests.

• Provide accurate wait estimates and keep guests informed of seating delays.

• Refer private dining and event inquiries to the appropriate team member.

• Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked host areas, menus, and entryways.

• Complete opening and closing duties, including menu preparation, reservation review, and restroom presentation checks.

• Involve a manager promptly when a guest concern requires additional assistance.

• A welcoming personality and genuine passion for hospitality.

• Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills.

• Professional appearance, demeanor, and phone etiquette.

• Ability to remain calm, gracious, and attentive during busy services.

• Attention to detail and discretion when handling guest information.

• Evening, weekend, and holiday availability.

• Previous hosting or customer service experience is preferred but not required.

• Familiarity with OpenTable is a plus; training is available.
