St. Charles Hospital is a 243‑bed acute‑care community hospital located in Port Jefferson, NY. It is a proud member of Catholic Health and has served the residents of the Three Village area for more than 110 years. The non‑profit hospital features three centers of excellence: Maternal/Child services, Orthopedics and Rehabilitation. It also offers services in general surgery, colon/rectal surgery, bariatric surgery, neurosurgery, ENT, pediatrics, diagnostic imaging, emergency medicine, epilepsy, stroke care, Female Pelvic Floor Disorders Center, and a nationally accredited Sleep Disorders Center.

Hospitalist Responsibilities

Provides and manages the care of acutely ill hospitalized patients alongside an excellent ancillary staff with a Rapid Response Team. Working in a collegial and professional environment in a 7‑day block schedule, responsibilities include providing full or partial services to private attending physicians who elect to utilize the Hospitalist Services, attending monthly Hospitalist Meetings, participating in quality and patient‑experience committees, working in a team environment, delivering high‑quality care, managing an average patient caseload of 15‑17 patients, and adapting to new CMS regulations.

Hospitalist Qualifications

• Doctorate degree in Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine
• ACLS/BLS Certified
• Trained in Family Practice or Internal Medicine
• Board Certified or Eligible in Internal Medicine/Family Practice

New graduates are welcome! The candidate will receive full‑time supervision from our excellent Hospitalist team, providing a great learning experience while engaging in clinical medicine.

Salary Range

USD 132,500.00 – USD 165,000.00 per year. This range is a good‑faith estimate; actual pay will depend on qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience. This does not include bonuses, incentives, differential pay, or other compensation.
