Responsibilities
- Provide clinical care and services for hospitalized adult patients
- Diagnose and treat patients
- Ensure quality, cost effective care for hospitalized patients
- Maintain strong rapport with hospital, primary care physicians, specialists and ancillary providers in order to affect quality care
- Study diagnostic images to aid in making diagnoses
- Prescribe medications and recommend dietary and activity programs, as indicated
- Refer patients to specialists as indicated
- Various administrative duties
Qualifications
- M.D. or D.O.
- License to practice medicine in Louisiana
- Completion of an internal medicine residency
