Optum WA (formerly The Everett Clinic) is seeking a growth-minded Internal Medicine physician to join their team in Everett, WA. This unique role involves dividing clinical time between inpatient hospitalist medicine and complex urgent care for seniors, focusing on medically complex patients. As part of Optum's clinician-led care organization, you will have access to extensive clinical resources and support to advance community health.

Practice Info

  • The hospitalist team is well supported and works closely with ICU, emergency department, specialty, and palliative care partners.
  • The hospitalist team has strong ties to the Washington State University residency program, with residents rotating through the service.
  • The Optum Advantage Clinic provides a high-touch alternative to the emergency department and hospitalization for eligible patients.
  • The Optum Advantage Clinic is equipped to provide services such as IV diuresis, IV antibiotics, expedited virtual specialty consultation, imaging including X-ray and CT, and procedures.
  • Residents in the Washington State University Internal Medicine residency program also rotate through the Optum Advantage Clinic.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hospitalist care.
  • Provide complex urgent care for seniors in the Optum Advantage Clinic.
  • Care for medically complex patients in innovative ways.
  • Provide high-acuity outpatient alternatives to hospitalization.

Compensation

  • Compensation for this specialty generally ranges from $125 to $186.86 per hour.
  • Total cash compensation includes base pay and bonus and is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience and may increase over time based on productivity and performance in the role.

Requirements

  • Unrestricted Washington State medical license by employment date (Required)
  • Current Washington State DEA certificate by employment date (Required)
  • Board eligible or board certified in Internal Medicine (Required)
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (Required)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (Required)
  • Managed care experience (Preferred)
  • One or more years of experience post-training (Preferred)
  • Experience caring for complex geriatric patients (Preferred)
