The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center Department of Internal Medicine is recruiting Academic Hospitalists to join the Division of Hospital Medicine at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor/Assistant Professor/Clinical Associate Professor/Associate Professor.

This is a full-time position providing a unique opportunity to engage in diverse clinical experiences at one of the nation’s leading academic institutions. Our hospitalists provide direct patient care while playing a critical role in teaching and mentoring the next generation of physicians, including residents and medical students.

Job Summary

  • Provide exceptional clinical care to a high-complexity patient population on med-surg level units
  • Teach and mentor internal medicine residents and medical students while on teaching services
  • Collaborate with advanced practice providers in a shared visit model during some weeks
  • Closed ICU

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree, or foreign equivalent, from an accredited institution
  • Board certified or board eligible with the American Board of Internal Medicine
  • Unrestricted Texas medical licensure
  • Commitment to participation in quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and other scholarly activities
  • We welcome candidates of all experience levels, including new graduates as well as those considering applying a sub-specialty fellowship in the future
