HOSPITALIST / NOCTURNIST, Academic

Overview

Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine (BU‑CASM) and Boston Medical Center (BMC) Department of Hospital Medicine are hiring Hospitalists and Nocturnist faculty. The Hospitalist will serve as the attending physician for the inpatient general medicine service and may cover the Medical Observation Unit. The role includes working with Advanced Practice Providers and may involve teaching services. No ICU or Code team participation. Weekend duties are shared with other faculty. Full‑time, part‑time, moonlighting and gap‑year opportunities are available.

Responsibilities

• Attend to inpatient general medicine patients.
• Cover the Medical Observation Unit as needed.
• Coordinate care with Advanced Practice Providers.
• Participate in teaching services.
• Cover weekend duties in rotation with other faculty.

Qualifications

• MD or DO, Board Certification/Board Eligible in Internal Medicine.
• License or ability to obtain a license in Massachusetts.
• Active DEA registration.
• Current BLS certification.

Compensation

Competitive salary commensurate with academic training and practice experience. A Boston University School of Medicine appointment will be offered commensurate with academic qualifications.
