An exciting permanent, full-time Hospitalist Medical Director opportunity is available at a community hospital in Palm Beach County, Florida. This hybrid role involves approximately 70–75% clinical duties and 25–30% administrative oversight, managing a dedicated team of physicians and APPs. The position features a Monday–Friday daytime schedule with no procedures, codes, or rapid responses required, as an in-house intensivist team covers those needs 24/7. Candidates must be board certified or truly board eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine with prior hospitalist leadership experience and an active Florida license.
Practice Info
- Community hospital (~250 beds)
- Established hospitalist team: 10 daytime physicians, 2 nocturnists, plus APP support
- EMR: EPIC
- Daily census ranges from 60–90
- No procedures required
- Intensivist group in-house 24/7 managing ICU, rapids, stroke alerts, and codes
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the hospitalist program
- Manage a team of 12 physicians plus APPs
- Develop and implement clinical protocols and quality initiatives
- Coordinate with hospital leadership and other departments
- Focus on patient flow, efficiency, and resource utilization
- Mentor providers and ensure regulatory compliance

Requirements

- Strong leadership, organizational, and team management skills
