Hospitalist

Sutter Medical Group (SMG) is seeking a Physician - Hospitalist to join an established Hospital Medicine team at Sutter Medical Center Sacramento in Sacramento, California. This role offers the opportunity to work within a highly collegial environment with strong support systems. Practice Info

• Open ICU model where hospitalists may follow patients or sign off via Epic, with intensivists managing all ICU admissions.
• Procedures are not required but may be performed if credentialed and comfortable.
• 14–16 census on 10-hour rounding shifts.
• Dedicated admitting shifts: 6–8 admits on days/swings (10 hours) and 8–10 admits on nights (12 hours).
• Supplemental APCs provide cross-coverage only; core model is physician-led.
• Strong case management and social work support, with pharmacy managing med-rec.

Compensation

• $173.04 - $213.04 /Hr.

Shift & Schedule

• Shift-Based
• No call
• 2–3 swings and 2–3 nights per month; majority covered by dedicated swing admitters and nocturnists.

Requirements

• Board Certified/Eligible in Hospital Medicine by ABIM
• Strong commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care
• Excellent communication and team-based practice skills
• Valid California medical license required prior to start
• Federal unrestricted DEA
