Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $900-$970
• Setting: Hospital inpatient units and emergency department
• Location: Lancaster, Pennsylvania 17602
• Start Date: 8/31/2026
• Schedule: 3rd shift, 11:00 PM-7:30 AM
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Duration: 18-week contract
• Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Every other weekend and rotating holidays
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients

Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of phlebotomy experience required
• Hospital phlebotomy or inpatient phlebotomy experience preferred
• Experience with butterfly needles and blood culture collection
• Ability to perform routine and difficult venipunctures efficiently
• Comfort working overnight in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Strong teamwork, attendance, punctuality, and willingness to learn
• Ability to adapt to changing workflow needs and accept coaching and feedback

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws for inpatient units and the emergency department
• Complete routine venipuncture collections, averaging approximately 6-8 sticks per hour depending on patient needs
• Use handheld devices to verify patient identity and print specimen labels
• Collect specimens accurately and follow established patient identification protocols
• Use transport tube systems to send specimens efficiently
• Review ordered tests and print labels using the designated laboratory system
• Collaborate with the phlebotomy team, nursing staff, and clinical support staff to support timely collections, especially during early morning high-volume rounds
• Maintain professionalism, integrity, and excellent patient interaction throughout each shift
