Homeland Security Program Analyst 3
This Homeland Security Program Analyst 3 position reports to the Domestic Terrorism Prevention Unit within the Office of Counter Terrorism in the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services. The role involves serving as a subject matter expert in targeted violence prevention, supervising staff responsible for training delivery, developing educational content, and supporting statewide prevention initiatives. The incumbent will direct training programs, maintain multidisciplinary outreach strategies across New York counties, and coordinate information-gathering and research efforts to inform leadership decision-making.
Key qualifications
- One year of permanent service as a Homeland Security Program Analyst 2, OR eight years of experience in intelligence analysis, homeland security, counter terrorism, or emergency preparedness
- Valid Driver's License from the Department of Motor Vehicles or demonstrated capacity to meet transportation needs
- Subject matter expertise in targeted violence prevention and terrorism threats
- Supervisory and management experience
- Experience with training program development and delivery
- Ability to travel 30% and support emergency operations as required
