Day in the Life of an In-Home Euthanasia Veterinarian

Gentle Pet Crossing operates as a full-service pet funeral home. Clients call a single number for all services; a team member answers questions and schedules the appointment. After scheduling, you will travel to the client’s home to perform the procedure. We handle intake and after-care logistics, so you can focus on your area of expertise. Veterinarians set their own schedule and availability. Typically, you will work fewer hours and have fewer administrative tasks while growing your income and maintaining flexibility.

A typical full-time schedule may involve 10-12 client visits per week (about two per day). Each appointment lasts approximately 30-45 minutes, with 30 minutes allocated for travel time to and from the client. This allows time to assess the pet, discuss with the owners, support them through grieving, and transport the deceased pet to after-care arrangements.

Why Gentle Pet Crossing

We empower compassionate veterinarians to control their own schedule and reduce administrative burdens of traditional solo practices, while making a meaningful difference for pets and families during difficult times. We book your appointments, process client payments, facilitate communication, and support you throughout your practice. You can join without fees and deactivate your profile anytime. We offer convenient sanctuary locations, a calm work environment, growth opportunities, and a gratifying role when you see clients’ relief and trust.
