Coordinating the lifecycle of the legal health record, the full-time HIM Coordinator will manage analysis, release of information, and auditing functions while ensuring compliance and process improvement in a remote setting. Key responsibilities Serve as a HIM support resource, coordinating special projects focused on the legal health record lifecycle and operations Conduct quality assurance audits of optical imaging staff and those entering paper information into the legal health record to ensure integrity Assist in designing optimized workflows and processes to achieve efficient results in managing protected health information Required qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent Two years of experience in HIM Department operations or an Associate's degree in Health Information Technology or Management Preferred Bachelor's degree in health information technology or related field Registered Health Information Technologists (RHIT) credentials or Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA) are a plus
