Office Paraprofessional
Sheridan County School District 2 is looking for a positive, professional, and motivated Office Paraprofessional to join the Highland Park School team. This position will work Monday through Friday, 7 hours per day when students are in school. HOURLY WAGE: $17.97 - $20.97 (depending on experience) BENEFITS: This position is eligible for Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance, Life Insurance, Supplemental Life and AD&D Insurance, Medical and Dependent Care Flex Share Plans, Aflac, and an Employee Pension through Wyoming Retirement System.
QUALIFICATIONS: High School graduate or equivalent. Good command of the English language. Ability to work well with students and staff. Working knowledge and competence in reading, math, English, and related academic subjects. Typing and computer skills preferred.
REPORTS TO: Building principal and/or classroom teacher
JOB GOAL: To provide enthusiasm, professionalism, efficiency, and support to students, staff, and parents.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Welcome students and visitors, determine the nature of their business, and direct visitors and students to appropriate personnel and staff members.
- Monitor visitor access and issue passes when required.
- Receive and input payment for student accounts and balances cash drawer daily.
- Operate multi-line telephone system to answer incoming calls; answer questions when necessary, direct callers to appropriate staff members.
- Perform other clerical duties such as filing, and assist secretarial staff with daily office functions.
- Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Gather and analyze information to develop alternative solutions.
- Work in teams to solve problems.
- Maintain confidentiality and respond promptly to student, parent, and staff requests for assistance.
- Apply common sense to carry out detailed, written, or oral instructions.
- Look for ways to improve and promote quality.
- Apply feedback to improve performance and monitor work to ensure quality.
- Follow policies and procedures, complete tasks correctly and on time, and support school district's goals and values.
- Present a positive attitude, approach others in a tactful manner, react well under pressure, and treat others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position.
- Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information concerning school matters.
