High Voltage TechnicianAir Liquide is hiring for a High Voltage Technician in Bayport, TX. Responsibilities encompass strict adherence to safety, health, and environmental procedures and standards, such as NFPA 70E and NFPA 70 (NEC). The individual must provide technical assistance in medium/high voltage systems, motors, substations, and distribution equipment along with 480V equipment. Critical responsibilities include managing the reliability and safe operation of a 138kV/13.2kV substation, serving as the primary contact for site electrical matters, and conducting regular inspections. Preventive maintenance and support during facility turnarounds are essential, as is overseeing vendor shop repairs for high voltage equipment and motors. Additionally, the role involves project management, including developing project scopes, coordinating external vendors, and implementing reliability initiatives. The overarching goal is to ensure safety, efficiency, reliability, and quality within the organization's electrical operations.Primary location in Beaumont, TX, would regularly drive to the Pasadena, TX area. (Mileage paid)Job Responsibilities:Support and comply with all Air Liquide safety, health, and environmental procedures and policiesComply with NFPA 70E and NFPA 70 (NEC) requirementsComply with all training requirements (SmartSolve, Cornerstone CBTs, Corporate, Onsite, Electrical Safety etc.)Provide technical assistance and expertise in the areas of medium/high voltage; synchronous and induction motors, substations, and distribution equipment.Troubleshoot and repair 480V MCC starters, contactors and controls.Partner with plant operations personnel to resolve electrical issues in steam boilers, water treatment systems, and electrical substation.Ensure reliability and safe operation of 138kV/13.2kV substationServe as primary customer contact for substation issues and perform switching operations as neededPerform substation rounds (check relays for alarm condition, ensure proper voltage level to customers, inspect substation batteries, climate control systems, etc.)Coordinate and support preventive maintenance (PM) of electrical equipmentSupport turnarounds as needed at pipeline facilities (ASU, Cogen, H2) by completing PM and PdM work on electrical systems (transformers, breakers, cables, motor control centers, synchronous and induction machines)Guide and collaborate with vendor shop repairs on high voltage equipment and motors to ensure excellent quality standards and adherence to Air Liquide standardsDevelop detailed scopes for electrical projects and maintenance activityCoordinate technicians, both AL and contract, to execute maintenance workFoster growth through mentoring and training of facility operations and technical staff in understanding the operation and maintenance of electrical systems and controlsMaintain 95% or greater compliance in PM program and 100% EIS (Element Important for Safety) PM complianceCommitted to advancing and maintaining the schedule for Electrical PM'sEnsure proper planning of work orders utilizing MaximoAssist in analysis and follow up on PdM data (thermography, relay and breaker testing, transformer oil/gas test, IR and PI of motors, PD testing etc.)Actively facilitate and contribute to Root Cause Analysis and Vulnerability StudiesDevelop and modify maintenance strategies based on RCA, VS and Risk Analysis findingsParticipate in development of annual maintenance schedule, budget and turnaround plansEnsure spare parts are adequately stocked, stored and replenished as neededWork closely with contractors & monitor contractor work quality and costContribute suggestions to improve plant safety, efficiency, reliability, and qualityRequired Qualifications:High school diploma or GED requiredExcellent verbal and written communication skills10 yrs + in plant high voltage equipment maintenance activitiesExperience in troubleshooting high voltage transmission equipmentExperience in troubleshooting and maintenance of high voltage motorsThorough understanding of safety requirements when working around HV equipmentHas full range of motion and ability to lift 50 lbs.Able to climb ladders and work off elevated platforms/surfaces.Able to work in non-conditioned environment for extended periods.Able to work in flash suit for testing and troubleshooting.Can travel for extended periods of time (1 to 10 days), with little advance warningPreferred Qualifications:Prior industrial gas experience.Our Differences make our PerformanceAt Air Liquide, we are committed to build a diverse and inclusive workplace that embraces the diversity of our employees, our customers, patients, community stakeholders and cultures across the world.We welcome and consider applications from all qualified applicants, regardless of their background.
