Math Teacher - SY
Plan and deliver academic lessons that are aligned with Common Core State Standards Mathematics standards. Provide individual and/or small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of students and to accommodate circumstances where a variety of projects and experiments are being worked on simultaneously. Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students according to Individual Education Plans (IEP). Support the academic, social, emotional, and leadership growth of each student. Create a positive, achievement-oriented learning environment. Maintain grades in a timely manner. Reflect on successes and areas of growth as a teacher, seek to improve performance, and respond to feedback. Participate in collaborative curriculum development, grade-level activities, and school-wide functions. Communicate regularly with parents regarding their children's academic success. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree or higher in secondary mathematics (or related content area). Possession or eligibility for a valid State of Delaware teaching license. Successful completion of Praxis I and II exams. Ability to work well with and relate to children of all ages. Ability to reflect upon teaching practices and respond to constructive feedback.
