Process Engineer Or SpecialistWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Process Engineer or Specialist to support and enhance Process Safety Management processes and systems across our power generation fleet. This role is responsible for lifecycle management of storage and handling systems covering hydrogen, ammonia and other substances across the fleet to ensure compliance with applicable codes/standards and insurance requirements. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in process safety engineering and hands-on experience with systems operation and maintenance.

This position plays a critical role in reducing operational risk, improving system reliability, and supporting safe, continuous plant operations.Key Accountabilities:Standards and Guidelines GovernanceAdminister generation services standards ensure alignment with applicable codes and standardsEnsure all standards incorporate event learnings, insurer loss control recommendations and industry best practices/technical bulletinsCoordinate development and revision of standards by facilitating technical input from SMEs.System Performance & ComplianceEvaluate existing plant systems for adequacy, reliability, and compliance.Support inspection, testing, and maintenance (ITM) programs in alignment with requirementsIdentify gaps and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks.Risk Engineering & Continuous ImprovementParticipating in incident investigations and root cause analyses related to PSM system failures or impairments.Drive standardization and continuous improvement initiatives across the fleet.Cross-Functional CollaborationPartner with operations, maintenance, engineering, and EHS teams to integrate PSM requirements into plant activities.Provide technical training and guidance to site personnel as needed.Education and Skill Requirements:High School Diploma/GED equivalent with minimum 10 years of experience in power generation, or similar asset-intensive environments.Experience supporting engineering, maintenance, operations, compliance, or technical program administration preferred.Demonstrated experience with operations and maintenance of hazardous chemicals handling systems and PSM administrative toolsStrong working knowledge of CGA, OSHA, ANSI, EPA and NFPA requirements as they relate to Hydrogen, Ammonia and Natural Gas.Familiarity with Hazard Mitigation or Process Safety AnalysisStrong project management and organizational skills.Proven ability to manage contractors and multiple projects simultaneously.Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence stakeholders.Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.Key Metrics for Success:Compliance & Risk ReductionReduction in identified system deficiencies across the fleet.Successful adherence to standards, insurance requirements, and internal policies.Audit & Inspection OutcomesTimely closure of audit findings and corrective actions.Operational SupportEffectiveness in supporting plant operations with minimal disruption.Responsiveness to emergent issues and incident investigations.Location: Will consider any Vistra fossil generation facility as an alternative to Irving TX.Grade: Grade will be assigned based on skills and experience (aligned with engineering/specialist progression program).Job FamilyEngineering ServicesCompanyLuminant Generation Company LLCLocationsIrving, Texas
