Hepatologist Physician \\u2013 Sentara Norfolk General Hospital

Sentara Gastroenterology Specialists, a division of Sentara Health, is seeking a BC/BE Gastroenterologist with primary focus in Hepatology to join the team at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, in Norfolk, Virginia. Transplant Hepatology certification is not required, but highly desired.

This dedicated Hepatologist role aims create a regional model for comprehensive liver care based out of the tertiary Level 1 teaching hospital at Sentara Norfolk General. Additional opportunities within this role including clinical research, inpatient care, and teaching with the medical school at Old Dominion University.

• Full time, Employed position with Sentara Gastroenterology Specialists
• Location: SNGH/Fort Norfolk
• Current team includes specialists in all GI care - Interventional Endoscopy (including endohepatology), IBD, Motility, Functional Disorders, General GI
• Core responsibility: creation of outpatient Hepatology clinic and clinical research program in Hepatology
• Inpatient GI service staffed by General GI but opportunities for rounding on liver patients
• Call shared equally across the GI team (not to exceed 1:5 on call)
• Academic appointment at Old Dominion University
• Collaborative opportunities in clinical and basic sciences for nutrition, endocrine, metabolic, and cardiovascular disease
• Fellow and resident teaching

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $579,508.80 - $662,542.40 annually. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs. Note: If an annual salary is posted, it is based on a full-time colleague working 2,080 hours annually.
