Chief Purpose of this position in support of above mission orgoal

The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology,Hepatology and Nutrition is seeking full-time Hepatologist, that isboard eligible/certified in Gastroenterology and Hepatology toprovide clinical services in the Hepatology clinics at VCU HealthSystem, to include both clinics on the Medical College of VirginiaHospital campus and in Hepatology outreach locations.

Teaching

Provide teaching to medical students, residents, and fellows in themanagement of patients with Liver conditions.

Research

The faculty will engage in research and develop interdisciplinarycollaborations in support of the core mission.

Clinical

Provide clinical services in the hepatology clinics at VCUHS, toinclude both clinics on the MCVH campus and in outreach locations;participate in the inpatient management of patients with Liverconditions, perform diagnostic endoscopic procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Board certified/board eligible in Gastroenterology andHepatology
• Experience in Hepatalogy Research
• Eligible for Virginia Medical Licensure
• For tenure eligible positions at the Assistant Professor rank,an established research agenda and a clear potential for externalfunding, as well as potential for scholarship or creativeexpression to complement and expand existing expertise in thedepartment
• For tenure eligible positions at the Associate Professor orProfessor rank, a well-developed scholarly/research portfolio withevidence of multi-disciplinary applications and external fundingappropriate to complement and expand existing expertise in thedepartmen
• Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment ofrespect, professionalism, and civility with a population offaculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences,or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU

Salary Range: Commensurate
