If you have ever wanted to practice Oncology in Alaska without committing to being there every week, this one is worth a look.
PeaceHealth in Ketchikan is seeking Hematology/Oncology coverage beginning this fall. The current structure is one consecutive week per month onsite , Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with no call. Coverage is expected to continue for approximately six months.
This is an outpatient Hematology/Medical Oncology and infusion practice caring for adult and geriatric patients. Volume is generally around 12 - 16 patients per day , and Epic is used for documentation. The physician will need both clinic and hospital privileges, with both located within the same overall facility.
The clinical scope includes infusion care, Medical Oncology/Hematology and bone marrow biopsy . Recent Hematology/Medical Oncology clinical activity is important for privileging.
The client notes also reference remote inbox coverage between onsite rotations . I am currently clarifying exactly what that entails, so I would rather discuss the remote component accurately with you than overstate it in a posting.
An active Alaska license is currently requested at presentation, and clean credentialing files may allow the process to move more quickly.
If one week per month in Ketchikan sounds interesting, I would be happy to learn what you are looking for and see whether the clinical scope and schedule line up.
