Hematology Oncology Physician

Jackson & Coker is seeking a Board Certified Hematology Oncology physician for a locums opportunity in Michigan, available from ASAP through December 31. This role involves a full-time schedule with shared call, focusing primarily on hematology cases. The position offers a chance to work across inpatient consults, outpatient clinics, and an infusion center, caring for adult and geriatric patients.

Practice Info

• Inpatient consult service, outpatient clinic, and infusion center
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• Goal for this position is to be nearly all hematology (>90% hematology, <10% solid tumor)
• 6 physicians in practice
• Radiation oncologists present during coverage
• APP support: 5 inpatient APPs covering 2 hospitals and 6 outpatient APPs
• Average hospital census: 10-15 patients per day
• Average outpatient volume: 15 patients per day
• EMR: Epic

Responsibilities

• Perform FNA/Biopsy
• Participate on a Tumor Board
• Order Tests
• Order Images
• Prescribe

Shift & Schedule

• ASAP – December 31
• Full-time schedule, Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
• Shared call pool with APP support, 5:00 PM-7:00 AM
• Call ratio: 1 in 5

Requirements

• Board Certified
• BLS
• Must be available full time
• Active Michigan license - highly preferred
