Carle Foundation Hospital is excited to add a BE/BC Hematology/Oncology Physician to our practice in Mattoon, Illinois. The Hematology/Oncology Physician will have the opportunity to specialize in their area of interest in Oncology.

Opportunity Details

The Hematology/Oncology Physician would practice in Mattoon, Illinois with a 4-day work week. Call schedule is negotiable. Leadership opportunity to support the growth of oncology services in Carle's South Central Illinois Region (Mattoon) will be considered for qualified candidates. Training in both Hematology and Oncology are required. The physician will be able to specialize in their area of interest in oncology. Board eligibility in both Hematology and Oncology are required for new graduates.

Responsibilities

• Participate in weekly disease‑specific tumor boards (Upper GI, Lower GI, Breast, Thoracic, etc.).
• Provide multidisciplinary support to Radiation Oncology and all Surgical Services.
• Teach medical students and Internal Medicine residents.
• Accrue patients to clinical trials (over 100 open trials).
• Support investigator‑initiated studies and collaborate with the Univ. of Illinois Basic Science Cancer Center.
• Mentor new graduates if selected.

Qualifications

• Board eligibility in Hematology and Oncology (new graduates) or completed training in both specialties.
• Ability to specialize in chosen oncology area.
• Experience in a multi‑disciplinary cancer care model preferred.
• Strong clinical and academic background.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $650,000 - $675,000. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered will depend on experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked, and compensation model.
