Hematology/Oncology Physician - UVA Health

Locations:  Culpeper, Gainesville,  VA


About the Opportunity

UVA Health is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Hematologist/Oncologist  to join our expanding UVA Community Health Cancer Service Line  in Northern Virginia. Based primarily at UVA Culpeper Medical Center  and UVA Gainesville Cancer Center , this position offers the opportunity to provide high-quality hematology and oncology care across both locations, supported by the strength of the University of Virginias academic medical center .

This is a growth position  designed to meet the increasing demand for advanced cancer care in Northern Virginia.


Practice Highlights

  • Practice Setting:  Outpatient, hospital-based, single-specialty group

  • Schedule:  Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM (flexible 4-day workweek available)

  • Call:  1:7, telephone only

  • Clinical Volume:  15-20 clinic patients per day; average annual wRVUs ~5,500

  • Case Mix:  50% oncology / 50% hematology

  • Hospital coverage:  no inpatient service 

  • Virtual Health:  Telemedicine and virtual consults integrated into practice

  • Support Team:  Advanced Practice Clinicians, nurse navigator for each provider, plus robust ancillary support including nutrition, social work, chaplaincy, smoking cessation, and patient advocacy services

  • Teaching Opportunities:  Engagement with UVA Hematology/Oncology fellows (0-2 per year rotate through)

  • Radiation Oncology onsite

Qualifications

  • MD/DO with Board Certification in Hematology and Oncology

  • Eligible for medical licensure in Virginia

  • Strong interest in delivering state-of-the-art cancer care  in community settings

  • Commitment to UVAs mission of patient-centered, academically integrated care

 The base compensation range for this role is $434,001 - $671,007  for a 1.0 clinical FTE status.  Individual compensation will be determined by fair market value and the selected candidate's qualifications, clinical experience, specialty training, credentials, and/or education.  Please note that the pay range does not include any applicable incentive compensation programs, such as productivity, quality, non-productivity, or other incentives that may be available for eligible positions.
