Job Summary
Board-certified or-eligible physician providing Hematology and Oncology clinical services at the Placer Health Center (Rocklin). The physician will perform all duties of a clinical hematologist and medical oncologist with a commitment of 100% clinical effort (80% direct patient care and 20% indirect care/ administrative time). The physician will see classical hematology and oncology patients. The position is based at the Placer Health Center Cancer Clinic with up to one half-day per week at the Comprehensive Cancer Center, but in times of need, the incumbent might be asked to see patients at other UCDH clinics.
Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include 80% direct clinical care (including documentation, follow-up, and care coordination). 20% indirect care: administrative, education, and training activities. Participate in monthly division meetings, hospital and cancer center committees, mega rounds, journal club, UC Davis tumor boards, and other educational activities. Evaluate patient satisfaction, peer review, clinical trials participation, RVU targets, and malpractice history as part of performance assessment.
Qualifications
- Licensed to practice medicine in California.
- Board certified in Internal Medicine.
- Board certified in Hematology and/or Medical Oncology.
- DEA certification.
- CITI Certification within one month of hire.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
- Residency diploma.
- Knowledge of scientific research methods and federal guidelines related to clinical trials.
- Knowledge of quality assurance procedures.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer skills required for job duties.
- Ability to collaborate with community physicians and serve as a representative of the UC Cancer Center on local Tumor Board, Cancer Committee, and other medical staff committees.
- Professional conduct with patients, families, and colleagues; compliance with all medical staff policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications (continued)
- Maintain current California medical license and DEA license.
- Completed internship, internal medicine residency, and fellowship in Hematology and/or Oncology at an accredited institution.
- Board certified or in maintenance of certification within two years of accepting the position.
- Active member in good standing with privileges at UCDMC or other assigned hospitals.
- Maintain volunteer clinical faculty appointment.
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations and data security.
- Execute CITI certification.
- Collaborate on local tumor boards, cancer committees, and clinical staff committees.

Special Requirements
- Criminal background check, drug screening, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
- Direct access to or responsibility for controlled substances, high-risk hazardous chemicals, biological or radioactive materials.
- Mandated reporter under CANRA and UC policy.
Misconduct Disclosure Requirement
