Hematologist/Oncologist

This locum tenens Hematology/Oncology role is located at a large, not-for-profit academic medical center in Phoenix, Arizona. Clinicians will provide on-site inpatient coverage and manage a 24-hour call schedule, requiring a minimum commitment of two weeks per month. Responsibilities include handling inpatient oncology consults and collaborating with the clinical team to ensure seamless patient transitions to outpatient care.

• Dates needed: Jan 4-10; Jan 11-17; Jan 18-24; Jan 25-31; Feb 1-7; Feb 8-14; Feb 15-21; Feb 22-28; Mar 1-7; Mar 8-14; Mar 15-21; Mar 22-28
• 24-Hour call schedule (7:00 AM to 7:00 AM, Monday through Sunday)
• Minimum of 2 weeks per month required

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site inpatient hematology and oncology coverage
• Be available for and process all oncology consults, averaging 12-15 per week within the inpatient hospital setting
• Collaborate with the clinical team to facilitate transition of hospital follow-up patients to outpatient settings to support continuity of care

Qualifications

• Board certification required
• Prescriptive authority required
