Your work ensures job sites stay productive and customers stay satisfied.
Responsibilities include:Diagnose and repair Caterpillar diesel construction equipmentUse Cat ET and other diagnostic tools to troubleshoot systems and componentsPerform preventative maintenance, part installations, and rebuildsService hydraulic, electrical, transmission, fuel, and undercarriage systemsOperate independently in the shop or in the field using a company-provided service truckCollaborate with mentors and team members for complex diagnosticsRequirements:Must own proper tools to perform necessary repairsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredDeep understanding of hydraulics, transmissions, fuel systems, and undercarriage componentsExperience using diagnostic systems such as Cat ETPrior military or heavy construction mechanic experience (Caterpillar or similar brands)Ability to work independently in shop or field settingsStrongly Preferred Experience:Welding and fabrication: MIG, arc welding, oxyacetylene, arc gougingHands-on experience with hydraulic pumps, valves, and motorsEarthmoving equipment service training via dealership, OEM, or technical schoolsProficiency with Cat ET or competitor troubleshooting platformsHeavy Equipment Technician levels and compensation are based on experience, certifications, and technical expertise.Curious what it's like to be a heavy equipment diesel technician at Mustang Cat?
