Position Summary:
Our ideal candidate will be a skilledoperator who always practices safety and can efficiently operate heavyequipment in support of underground utility, pipe installation, grading, and variousprojects.
- Operate heavy machinery such as loaders andexcavators
- Support pipe crew and / or miscellaneous crewswith grading and earthwork projects
- Communicate with the Foreman, crews, and ProjectManager to carry out tasks assigned
- Ensure job site safety of all individualsworking
- Inspect equipment and ensure it is in goodworking condition / safe to run
- Maintain cleanliness and maintenance of companyprovided vehicle and equipment
- A minimum of 2-3 years' experience in operatingheavy machinery (excavator, loader, etc.)
- 1 year experience in grading, earthwork, and/or underground utilityconstruction
- Ability to safely operate all types of heavyequipment used on job sites
- Must be able to read, understand, and interpretplans / blueprints
- Familiarity with "Blue Stakes" & what thevarious colored markings are for each utility a plus
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. continuouslythroughout the day.
- Competency and awareness of surroundings to identify safety hazards
