This is semi-skilled work in the operation of light construction and maintenance equipment, which also requires the exercise of manual labor. Must be able to operate a dump truck, back hoe, front-end loader, street sweeper and any other job related Public Works' equipment.
Responsibilities might include operation of a tractor, lawn mower and other field equipment. Drives a truck to and from work sites. May operate leaf vacuum truck. Handles asphalt, cement, gravel and other materials in storm drain and street repair work and uses tools incidental to those repairs. Must have knowledge of the operation and maintenance techniques of equipment.Tasks require the ability to exert heavy physical effort in heavy work, with greater emphasis on climbing and balancing but typically also involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-50); may occasionally involve heavier objects and materials (up to 100 pounds). Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions.Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. Possession of a CDL class B GA Driver's License.
