This position requires mechanical aptitude, equipment operation experience, and the ability to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on machinery. The Operator/Driver may also assist with installation and dismantling of equipment, handle materials, and perform general construction duties as needed.What You'll DoOperate equipment including backhoes, trenchers, excavators, skid steers, bulldozers, and similar machineryUse small motorized and hand tools such as chainsaws, jackhammers, and hydraulic toolsInspect, maintain, and safely operate assigned equipment, performing basic maintenance and field repairs as neededAvoid hazards such as underground utilities, overhead lines, and falling objectsFollow all regional and company safety policies and procedures, participating in safety training and compliance activitiesCommunicate clearly with team members using verbal and non-verbal hand signals while operating machineryWork around hazardous equipment, energized parts, and in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, and noise)May be exposed to traffic, poisonous plants, reptiles, and stinging insectsWork flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and during emergencies as neededMaintain required logs and reports and ensure all work complies with safety standardsPerform other duties as assigned by the supervisorThis job summary is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by individuals assigned to this position.
