Heavy Equipment Operator (Directional Drill)

HCS Construction is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment/Directional Drill Operator! The Directional Drill Operator will be responsible for safely operating the directional drill to place and install underground telecom facilities. We're looking for reliable and hard-working individuals that take pride in their work.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate HDD safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure team properly potholes for other utilities to ensure there no conflicts with the drill path
  • Fill water tanks with water.
  • Know and understand the location of the drill head at all times to avoid striking or damaging other underground utilities
  • Hook up swivel, reamer, and pipe product that will be pulled back to complete the bore shot.
  • Before the bore shot is started, walk out bore shot to ensure all utilities have been located and develop a plan for going above or below each utility or obstacle in the bore path.
  • Pull back the product with the correct hole opener and utilize the correct mud mixture to ensure that the product makes it from point B to point A.
  • Inspect and maintain job equipment.
  • Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license
  • Pre-Employment Screening
  • Relevant Experience 2+ years
  • MUST have or be able to obtain CDL Class A license
