Equipment OperatorSouthland Holdings is currently accepting resumes for highly motivated construction workers to join our team as an Equipment Operator.We are seeking local Equipment Operators with solid construction experience for a large heavy highway project in West Texas! Paid every Friday!!!Duties:Safe operation of Bull Dozer and Excavator/Trackhoe.Handling and/or moving materialMaintain daily logs of equipment usage, maintenance of equipmentIdentify, report and correct hazardsPerform tasks maintaining all health, safety and environmental rules and ensure all work is done in a manner which enhances safety of the work environmentRead locate sheets and possible underground and/or overhead utilitiesAnalytical and problem solving skillsRequirements:5 + years' experience in operation of heavy equipment in high traffic environmentMust be physically capable of navigating rugged terrain for the purpose of performing the duties outlined above.Must work in all weather conditions and be prepared for both extreme heat/coldKnowledge of sub-base materials and aggregation placement and compactionKnowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures including but not limited to backing up procedures, use of flagmen and spotters, signage, incident reporting, required personal safety equipment and lifting heavy loads.Knowledge of underground and overhead services and articulationMust be able to work independently and maintain a schedule of work.Knowledge of excavator/backhoe loading requirements; load charts; critical picksMust pass post offer drug screenDesired qualifications:10 + years' experience in operation of heavy equipment in a high traffic environmentOSHA safety training and a current First Aid and CPR certificateFull-Time Employee Benefits: Competitive pay, Health/Dental/Vision/Life & 401K company match.
