Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Location: Walterboro, SC Salary: $35–$45/hour Shift: Full-time, Day Shift
We are looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. You will be diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy construction and earthmoving equipment in a shop environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on equipment including:
- Excavators (CAT, Komatsu, Volvo, Hitachi, John Deere, Link-Belt)
- Dozers and track loaders (CAT, Komatsu, John Deere)
- Wheel loaders and skid steers
- Motor graders
- Articulated and rigid dump trucks
- Compactors and pavers
- Backhoes and telehandlers
- Scrapers and pipe layers
- Perform preventive maintenance (oil, filters, fluids, belts, hoses)
- Read and interpret service manuals and electrical schematics
- Document repairs and parts usage accurately
Requirements:
- 3–5 years of heavy equipment repair experience
- Strong diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems knowledge
- OEM dealership experience preferred (CAT, John Deere, Komatsu, Volvo, CASE, Hitachi, etc.)
- High school diploma or technical certificate
