We are at the forefront of today's construction industry growth and have several exciting job opportunities for talented, energized professionals across the region who want to join our #WeAre1KirbySmith family!The Heavy Equipment Field Service Technician operates a mobile service vehicle and travels to customer locations to perform in-field repairs on various brands of heavy equipment.

This will include diagnosing issues, ordering parts, writing technical reports, maintaining the care of company assets, and communicating professionally with others. They will perform quality work as efficiently and profitably as possible.The Heavy Equipment Field Service Technician/Mechanic must:Communicate and support the Kirby Smith vision and core values of One Mission, One Team, One Plan, One GoalPerform field repairs and maintenance with little or no direct supervisionDiagnose and evaluate problems with equipment and make repairs using established guidelines, following established flat ratesPlan methods and sequence of performing assigned repairsModel safe work habits and abide by all safety policies and procedures alwaysKeep rework within established guidelinesMake overnight stays on or near job sites when requiredComplete required paperwork efficiently and promptlyAttend factory and other training as specified by the supervisorMaintain the service truck in good working condition and cleanlinessComplete daily, monthly, and annual safety and vehicle inspectionsConsistently exhibit professional demeanor with customers, managers, and colleaguesPromote goodwill with customers and exhibit excellent customer relations behaviorsBe consistent and reliable on-site attendancePerform other job-related duties as assignedThe Heavy Equipment Field Service Technician/Mechanic must have:High School Diploma or EquivalentAbility to speak, read, and write in EnglishTwo (2) years of continuous experience in diagnosing and repairing construction equipmentAbility to read complex hydraulic and electrical schematicsFurnish and maintain a set of tools and any specialty tools required by the companyAbility to work overtime, stay overnight, and work on the weekend when neededPossesses and maintains a valid driver's license; CDL if requiredMust be able to obtain and maintain a valid DOT medical cardThe Heavy Equipment Field Service Technician/Mechanic must be able to:Push/Pull/Lift/Carry up to 100 pounds without assistancePhysical ability to squat, twist, turn, bend, stoop, climb, and reach overheadAbility to work in extreme heat or cold and wet, damp, dusty, or windy conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises, hazardous materials, and fumes/odorsPhysical ability to perform maintenance on equipment for extended hours, with continual mounting and dismounting throughout the workdayAdhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) policy and maintain individual PPE in a functional conditionThis is considered a Safety-Sensitive position.
