Heavy AssemblerArcosa Traffic Structures is looking for a Heavy Assembler. In this position you will assemble mechanical units, fabricate parts/components, sub-assemblies, assemble and complete units using hand tools, power tools, jigs, fixtures and miscellaneous equipment.Location: Sumterville, FLWhat you'll do:Fit, align, calibrate and adjust parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product operating requirementsRead blueprints and verify the parts required prior to assemblyInform supervisors of any parts or equipment defects to ensure prompt response to the problemRepair units or products that have failed to meet requirementsAttach components to finished product as specifiedLay out reference points, positions, aligns, and fits together fabricated parts according to blueprint and layout specificationsIdentify parts that need repair and perform repairs as necessaryMaybe involved in safety committees or initiativesFollows safety rules and practicesWhat you'll need:Able to read a tape measureAble to lift 65+ pounds, repeatedly2+ years of experience in general assembly workSteel yard experience is preferredAbility to read blueprints and layout specificationsAbility to operate mobile equipmentIdentify and match up sub-assembly to final productExperience with power and air tools to apply appropriate torque sequence and valuesStrong attention to detailAble to work in all-weather elements and loud noisesBasic communication skillsWorking Conditions:Work environment includes plant, warehouse, production and non-production areas and plant grounds.This position may require work/maintenance coverage beyond the normal hours, shift, and on weekends/holidaysAbility to tolerate both high and low temperatures, loud noises typical of a manufacturing plantEqual Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
