Rubrum Advising is looking for a Healthcare Senior Associate to join our Federal Programs team. This role will work closely with senior leaders tosupport the design of commercialization strategies across medical device, technology, and therapeutics companies. Our client work most often includes planning and strategy related to evidence, regulatory milestones, andfederal pathways—including CMS coverage, payment, and demonstration models.

The ideal candidate is an early-career professional with healthcare experience, who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment where priorities evolve quickly and teams build bespoke solutions every day. This is a remote role, with a preference for candidates based in the Northeast corridor—between Washington DC and Boston.

Responsibilities

The position is ideal for someone who wants to work at the intersection of policy and product innovation to help shape how federal programs enable real-world adoption of transformative care. Responsibilities include:

  • Quickly digesting and understanding client business objectives, perspectives, and key issuesto help achieve their commercialization goals
  • Researching and delivering first drafts of key materials, including client memos, issue reports, white papers, meeting summaries, and other documents
  • Project management support to ensure deadlines are tracked and deliverables are completed on time
  • Tracking developments across complex healthcare regulatory landscapes andexercising judgment in identifying key implications to flag for client leads
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive and impactful solutions for clients
  • Periodic administrative support for client accounts, including notetaking, meeting scheduling, travel coordination, etc.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in healthcare consulting, health policy, or related roles
  • Advanced degree (i.e. J.D., M.S., M.P.H., M.P.P., etc.) or equivalent experience in healthcare administration, public health, or related fields preferred
  • Strong understanding of the U.S. federal Agencies and interest in a career involving the Agencies
  • Ability to read and synthesize clinical research, scientific journals, and other similar sources
  • Expertise in areas such as coverage, trial design, market access, and legislative/regulatory affairs; prior federal agency (CMS, FDA) experience is a plus
  • Based in the Northeast Corridor (Washington D.C. to Boston)
  • Superb writing skills and experience drafting materials intended for senior executives, policymakers and/or external audiences
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate clinical research, scientific journal articles, etc., into actionable insights
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with a talent for distilling complex concepts for diverse audiences
  • Commitment to Rubrum’s mission of accelerating adoption so that people receive better care sooner

This is a remote position and occasional travel will be required.
