This role provides support to the interdisciplinary team in the areas of file management, administrative and operational functions and serves as a liaison to the medical community.

Works closely with internal and external partners to support the medical needs of clients in the company's care. This role is specifically intended to provide direct support to the Washington supported living program.Essential duties and responsibilities:Oversight and management of the residential services departmentCollaboration with the WA residential director to ensure clients are receiving a good quality of service and their needs are metDevelopment and maintenance of expert knowledge of regulatory requirements pertaining to medical needs, guidelines, laws, etc. in the supported living fieldRe-training DSP's as needed when medical errors occur or trends are notedCommunication with the nurse delegation team, DDA and medical professionals regarding individual care, including written and verbal correspondenceManagement of nurse delegation by ensuring clients requiring delegated tasks are scheduled for required visits, documentation is received and up to date and that ample qualified staff are delegated to complete delegated tasksMaintenance of medical records as required by regulatory guidelinesReporting suspicions of abuse/neglect/exploitation per guidelinesCompletion and remaining current in first aid, CPR, therapeutic options, infection control and bloodborne pathogens trainingMonitoring health needs, including medications, special diets, and notifying supervisors of any outstanding needsAttending supervisor meetings, chaired by the WA residential director to review medical matters pertaining to the facilities/clients as requestedProviding lift and transfer assistance training (may include non-ambulatory individuals) requiring ability to bear and maneuver up to 50 or more pounds of unbalanced weightWorking with the WA residential director to respond to corrective action in regards to medical compliance within required time framesEnsuring that each facility has the needed medical documentation and formsEnsuring each facility has updated and relevant medical and medication protocols and providing staff training as neededRegularly reviewing on-site medications and medical documentationUploading medical documentation into client files within one week of completionCommunicating with client guardians and case managers as needed regarding medical appointments, medication changes and needed proceduresWorking with the WA compliance director to ensure we are in compliance with all required dates: medical appointments, consent forms, etc.Checking in cycle medications. Recording and implementing medication changes in the facilitiesCoordinating with supervisors to ensure medical appointments are being completed and that medical documentation is being completed properlyAttending appointments as needed for new client PCP set up, mental health or behavioral needsEntering scheduled client appointments into tracking systemsAttending medical appointments as needed for clients with high medical needsScanning appointment information to third parties as requestedCoordinating with the WA compliance director to conduct one full medical QA monthly for each facilityProviding disciplinary action with staff and program supervisors as needed for documentation, cleanliness of homes and overall compliance in regards to medical concernsSetting up new client pharmacy agreements, personal care supplies, medical appointments, dental appointments and mental and/or behavioral health appointmentsRecording and maintaining client information such as personal data in databases and filesScheduling nurse delegation for staff identified as needing it by program supervisors. Ensuring proper documentation for nurse delegation is completed and on-siteMonitoring required dates for upcoming medical appointments, care plans and consentsCreating and modifying documentation forms for clients as needed for medical trackingReviewing medical documentation to ensure follow ups are scheduled and treatment plans are completed prior to filing in client retentionReviewing client plans for accuracy regarding medications, medical support needs and hygiene support needsEnsuring clients have needed hygiene supplies by setting up accounts and ensuring staff know how and when to order supplies as neededManaging all MARS between the pharmacy and within our database as neededWorking with directors to ensure COVID response plans are being followed for the whole companyManaging COVID reporting to state and local health departments for all departmentsEnsuring staff credentials are emailed or faxed to nurse delegators for all departmentsEnsuring nurse delegation information is up to date and accurate in client homes for all departmentsMonitoring client dates for expiring care plans, consents and medication treatment for all departmentsOther duties as assignedTravel: Travel between offices, programs, and meetings averages 80%.

Personal vehicle use is required; mileage is reimbursed. Out-of-state travel is typically not necessary.Required education and experience:Certified medical assistant license and 1-year field experience (or)Licensed practical nurse and 1-year field experienceTwo years specialized training emphasizing social services, at least three years' experience working within a business, social services, or educational settingHigh school diploma or GED equivalent2 years' experience working with clients with disabilities3 years supervisory experienceLicensing requirements:Must pass a Washington state background checkFirst aid/CPR certified (within 120 days of employment, training can be provided)Blood borne pathogen (within 120 days of employment, training can be provided)Need to obtain CPI blue cardTraining from DDA regarding writing IISPs and PBSPsNurse's aide registered (NAR) and able to be nurse delegatedOngoing eligibility qualifications:Complete and pass the background check screening upon hire and every two years thereafter, or as requestedMaintain active NAR, CPR/First Aid, nurse delegation and other required certificationsComplete a minimum of 12 hours of continuing education annuallySAILS Washington and citizen access residential resources are part of the Redwood family care network family of companies.
