isseeking a part-time Health Program Director to work in theDepartment of Neurology.

The Department of Neurology provides evaluation, treatment, and care for patients suffering from a widerange of neurological disorders including stroke, epilepsy,multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, amyotrophic lateralsclerosis (ALS), and migraine. We provide care through ourinpatient and consultative services, our designated ComprehensiveStroke Center, our Level 4 Epilepsy Center, our 22-bedNeuro-Critical Care Unit, and our busy outpatient practice. TheDepartment also provides state-of-the-art rehabilitation services. A number of departmental faculty received grant funding from theNational Institutes of Health and the Veteran's Administration tostudy the role of genetics in stroke, epilepsy, and Parkinson'sdisease, new brain imaging modalities in multiple sclerosis,biomarkers in multiple sclerosis, and neurodevelopmental disorderssuch as autism and intellectual disability. Many faculty are leadinvestigators in clinical trials to identify new therapeuticapproaches for a broad range of neurological disorders

Under limited supervision, uses subject matter expertise to planand coordinate the content and delivery of a program involving patient care, clinical research or community healtheducation.

Employees whose job duties require them to work in clinicalsettings or at clinical or field sites continue to be subject to the vaccine requirements of those sites.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provides strategic direction for the health program, to includeestablishing goals, target groups, and desired outcomes.
  • Prepares, coordinates, and maintains program content anddelivery methods for the daily operations and events within thatspecific organizational program. Establishes service guidelines forpatients, clinical subjects, and the community.
  • Reviews and approves protocols from research staff. Examinesand evaluates program effectiveness, and makes changes asnecessary.
  • May interact with students, residents and physicians tocoordinate patient care.
  • Coordinates the use of databases used to analyze criteria anddeliver data, as well as to monitor, evaluate, and revise programoperating policies and procedures.
  • Organizes and/or participate in various committees and teams toconsult with program heads and administrative officials on policyand program needs as well as various administrative issues.
  • Coordinates the regular publication of summary reports andserves as an information resource to coworkers, the university, andexternal figures.
  • Develops funding sources for the program, through grantseeking, major fundraising events and/or donations.

Qualifications :

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education : Bachelor's degree in a health relatedfield.

Experience : Five (5) years of experience involving programplanning and coordination experience in a related field.

Supervisory Experience : Two (2) years experience of overall responsibility for program direction, coordination and implementation.

Certification/Licensure : Appropriate state licensure may be required as defined based upon the nature of the program.

Other : Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 undergraduate college credits being equivalent to one year of related experience. In instances where specific education and/orexperience is required only directly related education and/orexperience may be substituted.

  • Knowledge of best practices in departmental field.
  • Skill in supervising, mentoring, and teambuilding in order toprovide guidance and instruction to others.
  • Skill in data manipulation and analysis with an ability tosolve problems and make sound judgements.
  • Ability to exercise the initiative and resourcefulnessnecessary for prioritizing multiple and ongoing projects.
  • Skill in communicating efficiently and effectively both orallyand in writing with a variety of internal and external individualsor agency representatives.
  • Skill in continuously seeking to improve the quality ofservices and processes.
  • Computer skills in relevant design and/or officeapplications. Hiring Range: $73,500 - $83,843 ( .60 FTE) , Commensurate with education and experience.
