Teens Make Health Happen Mentorship

Location: Southern Oklahoma (Ardmore, Davis, Dickson, Kingston, or Madill)

Hours: 8+ hours per week; academic year 2026–2027.

Stipend and college credit available.

HealthCorps is a national nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of youth by providing innovative, engaging health education experiences. We empower teens to become change agents within their families, schools, and communities.

Where You Fit In

We are looking for a creative, friendly, self‑starter to implement the Teens Make Health Happen program in 1–4 middle or high schools in Southern Oklahoma. The Mentor will lead the wellness club, develop leadership opportunities, and promote health and wellness in the community.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strong relationships with teen wellness leaders and school partners to ensure effective program delivery.
  • Assess schools’ needs and track progress through needs assessments, reporting, and tracking.
  • Manage Teens Make Health Happen clubs, planning and implementing the program and committing to 8+ hours weekly and 3–4+ hours on site each week.
  • Host Café O Yea demonstrations monthly, support regional events, and contribute to HealthCorps’ social media (Instagram, TikTok, etc.).
  • Commit to the HealthCorps mission, ensuring local health resources are accessible for all students and staff.
  • Represent HealthCorps in Southern Oklahoma at sites and area‑wide events, acting as an embodiment of our values.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or graduate college student majoring in or interested in public health, public policy, biology, nutrition, marketing, psychology, education, social work, or related fields.
  • Good academic standing.
  • Commitment to 8+ hours per week for the entire academic year.
  • Strong desire to grow personally and professionally, comfortable speaking and presenting health topics to a teen audience.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 60 miles within Southern Oklahoma.
  • Capable of lifting up to 15 pounds at times.
